WhatsApp Messenger, the most used free chatting app around the world, has a surprise for all it’s users with all new added feature. To mark its 8th birthday on February 20, it has rolled out its hyped new status update feature for all its users, which features skill similar to Instagram and snap chat users. It’s key functionalities have been modified in consonance with user behavior over the period of time.
The most popular messaging app’s new feature works just like the Snapchat or Instagram Stories in form of pictures, GIFs and video content, sans the use of texts in status. It’s new and more improved status feature lets your contacts know what’s happening in your daily life, where pictures speak.
Apart from to send and receive messages, calls, photos, documents, videos and Voice Messages, it will now let users share their status in form of stories.
One can enhance the status story by adding more than 100s of emoji, draw, sketches, add stickers or text annotations, with different font colour & size, and additional support for enhanced video calling features.
Just like Snapchat & Instagram, its status has taken a form of a clocked timeline that disappears after 24 hours. Users have the privacy feature of whom do they allow to track the story.
The new update also offers features like video calling, end-to-end encryption, voicemail, Google Drive backups etc, converting videos into gif. One can even send six-second long video as a GIF, apart from usual gif images from Giphy or Tenor.
Talking about the media sharing limit, it has been raised upto 30, unlike before which was 10. WhatsApp’s interface has also undergone minor tweaking such as addition of camera shortcut, floating new conversation button, re-organised tabs for status, calls and chats separately.
